Today I was supporting someone whilst they had their operation and Liz was fantastic right the way through. The lady I was supporting was extremely anxious and Liz made us all feel at ease, she was friendly, professional, and competent. We are really pleased with today’s visit. Thank you Liz on behalf of Frances and staff.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I value hearing your experience, as carers often have the best insight into what will best meet the needs of a patient. I am glad I was able to put everyone at ease and smooth over any anxiety.

I was very nervous about having the operation but she kept talking to me, explaining everything and saying how well I was doing. Having her there talking to me really eased my mind and helped me to relax. Our first daughter was sadly stillborn and Dr Kingston was aware of this. She handled the situation very well and was so caring. I honestly don’t know what constructive suggestions I could make as she truly was amazing. Her care was fabulous, she is a great Dr.

Thank you for your very kind feedback. It is very encouraging to hear that explaining what should be expected was reassuring for you, and helped you feel calm and relaxed during your procedure. I hope you are recovering well, and that this positive experience will be useful in having confidence for future anaesthetics.

Dr Kingston helped me feel at ease during a very stressful time. She was knowledgable and clear about what would happen during my emergency c-section procedure. She was very friendly, understanding and patient.

Firstly, I hope you are recovering well from your caesarean section. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback during what must be a very busy time for you. I am glad to hear my care helped you feel calmer during your time in theatre, and that you felt clear about what would be happening.

Liz was amazing!!! She explained every part of my care to my husband and I in a way we would understand. She stayed with me throughout my whole procedure, came to see me in recovery and also on the ward 2 days later to check I understood everything. She explained it all to my husband who was panicking. I would not have wanted anyone else to care for me.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for the care you received. As an anaesthetist, I take great satisfaction in following a patient's journey from pre op assessment and explanation, through their care in theatre and recovery, and finally reviewing how patients are post operatively. It is very common for patients, and their relatives, to have worries leading up to an operation, but often these can be reduced or overcome by careful assessment and explanation of what is to come. If procedures are undertaken as an emergency it is doubly important to follow up pre op discussions after the operation to check what has been understood, and to answer any queries, as this will often help patients and their families come to a fuller understanding of the events. I appreciate your very kind feedback, and I am glad to hear you were happy with the care you received. I wish you well for your recovery.

I had an emergency ceaserean section on 1/8/18. I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety and after the spinal had been completed and i started to feel numb, I felt I was on the verge of having a panic attack. Dr Liz was sat at my head and I told her I felt I was having a panic attack. She chatted to me, stroked my head, gave me sips of water and when I advised I had been doing hypnobirthing to keep me calm during labour, she talked me through some relaxation/ meditation that completely calmed me down... so much so that I almost fell asleep! I honestly believe I wouldn’t have gotten through my section without her. She was so understanding and listened to my panic and talked me through it. She even came to see me the next day to see how I was. Thank you so much Liz, I will never forget what you did for me on that special day.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and taking the time to leave your kind feedback about your emergency caesarean section experience. I appreciate that having any operation can be challenging at the best of times, but adding being awake to this for caesarean delivery requires careful management to help patients have a positive experience. I was grateful for your honesty which allowed me to tailor my care more closely to your individual needs, and I have a personal interest in medical hypnosis, which I enjoy using in my care. I find that guided meditation and relaxation can be very helpful during delivery and was glad it was of use to you too. I hope this was a good, positive experience of anaesthesia that you can use to build confidence for any future care you receive, and I wish you well for your recovery.
